pull back the demon inside before crossing the sea

Arrow Titans - WWE NXT UK
pop culture dailies weekly monthly ...? 032
Tried to do stay to true to the name but life just keep throwing obstacles at you and you ended up stumbling despite your best efforts ...at least I tried:
Arrow s07e01 Inmate 4587
[CW]
Speaking of which, the flagship series returns with a refreshingly new status quo for once as the main protagonist is behind bars and his merry bands are disbanded and thrown into the wind with last season's main antagonist actually is still not defeated and threaten to wreak havoc yet again. A power vacuum leaves the city calmer at least for a few months but it invites ambitious people to fill it in and another man in cloak akin to Green Arrow comes into the picture to keep the city safe. I am loving the new dynamic with Oliver Queen has to survive the prison life for his loved ones while his former teammates conflict with each other in how to protect the city in the aftermath of last season's finale. It won't be an Arrow show without any sort of time travel element but surprisingly they move in another surprising direction that I do not see it coming. Suffice to say I am looking forward to see where this seventh season will go ...

Titans s01e01
[DC Universe]
With all the buzzing hubbub around this first live action series for the DC streaming platform, I know I that should practice what I preach and watch the show myself before passing any judgement. The pilot is done and dusted and it certainly establishs what kind of universe they are setting this version of Titans is! Everything is grounded down as they try to adapt the core characters into 'real life' and apply their abilities and background into realistic scenarios, with the gore and violence unexpectedly cranks up to a 'Deadpool' degree, which fits the particular tone they are going with. We are able to see all four characters on screen at a time but while only a couple physically cross path, I am intrigued to see how they will tie into and interact with each other in the coming episodes. It is safe to say that this is more 'adult' than the ever popular Teen Titans and while it may not be a home run straight away, it is a positive trajectory in the right direction in trying to create their own shared universe that is more than likely to be separated with the CW's Flarrowverse. It will not be everyone's cup of tea but that's okay for me.

NXT UK 107118
[WWE]
It is a monumental step for the company that leads the industry to back up what they have been saying all these years and actually spread their wings and open up a subdivision across the pond in England with their developing brand of NXT as the perfect platform for the homegrown talents to flourish under their direct watch and under their global umbrella. Their first show though could've been better since it is their debut and they could've start with a bang but it was rather solid with slow buildup to the excellent UK Championship title match that main event the show and the night with aplomb. A man single match started the day without bringing life to the always energetic crowd with their football cheers while the Mustache Mountain teasing of their own Tag Team Title without any notion of other adversaries that will face them down. The UK debut of Toni Storm is not up to par with how she performs in the Mae Young Classic but I guess this is to be expected out of a product that is still trying to find their footing. With that being said, the brawl between Pete Dunne and Noam Dar brings it back for them and showcase what UK style and of course Bruiserweight is all about! It would be great if every match is at that level but all in all it is a positive start for this oversea wing of the NXT and I'm sure this will be a successful venture for WWE and will signify a start for them to open up NXT in other countries that have the same potential as UK.

P.S. With regards to a certain redhead in Titans, I understand now why she is dressed that way. See, you just need to watch the show to know the reason behind it!
