"Dracula has to be destroyed."

Trailer Review 027 & TV Preview 011
Castlevania Season Two
Netflix
[October 26th, 2018]
Trailer(s) Effectiveness = 100% for promising more action with established character and teasing the team-up and the eventual encounter with Dracula.
The first season was a surprise hit to all of us, with Netflix releasing just four episodes for the first season just to be safe to us the fans of the original game series and the genre of anime in general. Them doubling down on the maturity of its materials and the violence really pay off in showcasing the rich backstory of this franchise and the stake of the threat the world is facing with Dracula literally unleashing hell upon the humanity. Truth be told, I am not well versed in Castlevania's mythology before this show but now I am well invested in the main characters and the tease of team-up against the big bad Count that I was really disheartened to see the storytelling ended with just four episodes but it made me look forward for them to go full throttle with a full season run for once, or you know, just double the first fun. You can't get everything, right? I understand them being cautious instead of having their hands too full by being too ambitious. Based on the trailer, it is all about more of the same really but at least they are going off the races right away after the sophomore outing is basically just setting up the table for them to jump off of, so to speak. All in all, I can't wait for us to join Belmont yet again!
Chance of Success 90% with uproarious reception of the first season and double the storyline and hopefully action.

a case for the first short but sweet outing:
+ Highlights +
bringing the Castlevania world to 'life' wonderfully with gorgeous animation and action sequences while the solid voice cast giving the characters much needed personalities.
? Main contention ?
believe it or not, they are still some out there that hasn't been exposed yet with the Japanese medium whether drawn or animated hence the hesitation of them to jump straight into this series in fear of not getting used to it.
~
there is rumours of an Assassin's Creed series in the same ilk being developed somewhere ... now this makes me wonder what other game franchises would have a seamless transition such as this!
- Lowlights -
entitled fan would criticise of how short the first season was while the diehard fans of the original would be vocally outraged for any denaliation from the Castlevania lore.
-

a case for the twice as long followup:
+ Highlights +
more of the same which is what we want really.
? Main contention ?
where could they go with this storyline and how much of the games in the series would they cover next? Only time will tell.
- Lowlights -
the fear of them not living up to the hype that is started by the first season.
