Dear Diary #138 | June 02nd, 2025

My old cat caught quite a sizable rat which I commended her for since they've been a menace throughout the kitchen this year, and... she played with the carcass inside the house to teach her lone kitten what to do with a prey. I was washing the dishes and moving plates around the kitchen and I spoke into the existence that I might accidentally step on the rat since it's being thrown all over the floor.

Guess what? I did. Didn't pay enough attention to where I was stepping and actually stepped on it, reflexively recoiled my left leg and bummed my knee onto the cabinet below the sink. Thankfully it didn't actually explode upon contact and my kneecap is still just a bit sore now. There's a knick on the surface of the skin but that's acceptable.
