It's never been explained to me what to do with the toothpaste after I had done brushing my teeth, so I only follow my peers since I was young to just rinse them off right away as soon as I stopped the brushing, but...

... I only found out on Reddit yesterday that you were supposed to leave it be for awhile after you are done, just to spit out any excess toothpaste instead of rinsing them off with water, effectively lessening the effect of the fluoride surrounding your teeth.

Well... I tried it just this morning, but it's not easy to do so. I had to rinse it off after a minute or so.

I have to get used to that taste and sensation for the betterment of my already heavily used teeth.
