Tips, see Thursday 015 & misc list 089
I wasn't able to keep the daily schedule but it's better late than sorry, right?
If you know me as a person, I am quite a quiet man but a few of you unfortunately probably see my rare outburst of emotions and rage. I wasn't proud of that at all but I know I have been keeping myself in check all the time and not let anything gets the better of me. With my own personal experience as a viable source, here is a few lessons I learned:
#043: take a beat
Taking the time to actually take a beat or take sometime to actually react to a certain variable that tick you at the moment helps tremendously for me. Reacting impulsively without any notion of thought behind it just because a certain phrase of words or a certain action rubs you the wrong way would always resulted negatively towards you. That extra second of dead air that you let breathe would help you to let that tick sinks in would make or break your day when you decide to act against it!
#044: breathe
Speaking of which, taking the time to actually breathe helps as well when you have something on your mind and it start to build up inside of you and threaten to take over your common sense and envelop your body with rage. Before it boils over and explode in a field of fury, taking a deep breath or two helps me to recover my thoughts and shake off the unneeded stress upon myself. These deep breathes are just my own way to recover my sanity and it is a simple exercise that could help you.
#045: think about it
After those two physical exercises, I want to recommend a thought exercise as an alternative. I want to ask you, why are you angry at the first place? Is it worth the rage you're giving to it? Even if it irks you in some way, would you feel better after releasing all of that rage in screams and shouts? What would happens next? Won't anything negative comes back to haunt you? Before you act without any thought behind it and regret it later, just think about it before you act on it. It would make a whole world of difference in the end.
