It was hard to follow the schedule and this segment has been missing more than a couple of entries already but here I am to make up for it. So ... here we go!
Let me know go out of the norms here and let's take a look at the one signature fruit of the month of fasting for the Muslims: kurma or dates. It's been known to us who are practising the religion of Islam that our Prophet, Nabi Muhammad @ Rasulullah S.A.W. would only eat one piece of date (if I'm not mistaken) to break the fast as Maghrib arrives, educating us the followers to follow his examples as sunnahs that we should practise and would be rewarded for it. That's the gist of how we view the fruit as the staple food to break the fast with and considering how thick and filling it is as a delicacy, I believe it's a perfect choice.
.For those who haven't taste it at all, it has the thickness and consistency that resembles durian but has the sweetness and tardiness profile that's one of a kind. It might not be suitable to be eaten in large quantity in one sitting because of its thick nature but it is perfect to fill the stomach of a hungry person, just like mine every day after a whole day fasting. I think it's a fruit that could be loved by almost everyone since it has a lovely taste with a lasting filling aftertaste. There are two version of the date, between the big and thick and slim and juicy, choosing one over another if you prefer a filling version or a slimmer version that won't be as heavy. Truth be told, you can safely say that each date have similar signature taste with each other despite being from different places and plantations with different shapes and sizes.
