DC's Arrow, Supergirl & the Flash
pop culture dailies 008
I'm starting to ramp up my posting due to the help of fast sketching by yours truly (I don't know about the following colouring phase though ...) and today it's all the recurring OG DC shows ...

Arrow s06e10 Divided
Now in its sixth season, they certainly find the need to reinvent themselves and introducing something new and this season it's in the form of cyber crime master as the main villain as the main throughline that expose their weaknesses and use it to separate the formerly inseparable Arrow team. Not having the advantage of numbers never fazed Oliver Queen before although in this particular instance he's just spreading himself too thin to cover all of them and letting himself exposed in the open. The ever present lingering threat of being behind bars would (or should) keep him at bay and force him to rely on old friends to keep the city safe. After a return to form last season, I hope they would keep it up for the foreseeable future.

Supergirl s03e10 Legion of Super-Heroes
Finally finding a threat that surpasses her own proves to be too much for Kara Danvers to process as she is forced to recover in a bacta tank and having a psychic conversation with the horrible-looking Brainiac 5 (falling short yet again after saving face with the recent crossover now a step back with sub-par facial makeup), leaving the National City vulnerable to the ruthless bidding of Reign, favouring lethal punishment over mercy. With the Legion of Superheroes from the future in the mix of Supergirl's storyline, the future of the series remains bright for the possibilities while the current storyline focus on the slow unraveling of Reign's end goal for the Earth. I'm sure Lena Luthor would Kara's secret identity sooner or later and with the universe having a Superman of its own, you are not wrong to wonder why he hasn't come to the rescue of his niece yet ... maybe that's safe for the future episodes, ones with the other teammates of Reign have showed themselves!

the Flash s04e10 the Trial of the Flash
After seasons of antagonists with slight alternates to the speed force powers again and again, they finally wise up and follow up the disappointing Flashpoint Paradox with intellectual threat in the form of the xyz and the slow reveal of his true identity paid off with the reveal of his masterplan (although only the methods but not yet the eventual main goal) and effective framing of Barry Allen on a murder he did not commit. The due process itself probably would not hold up under much scrutiny and the defendant's plan to defend him by applying to the jury's better judgement based on his prior works and demeanours instead of contesting the mounting evidences against him in the end resulted in him being sent to jail, the same jail that his father spent his time incarcerated before. All of this just to not reveal his true secret identity, which Clifford DeVoe probably already predicted and would let him move on to the next step of his season arc masterplan. Plastic man better step up to follow in his footsteps. Whether it was intentional or not, it's certainly memorable!
