Parody Effectiveness = 100% for finding perfect pairing of Cuphead and Dark Souls and effective execution of the blending concept between the both of them.
a case for the long-in-development surprise indie hit full of charm with no-nonsense difficult levels:
+ Highlights +
Every part of the screen is full with colorful visuals as well as characters as the animators tirelessly draw and animate them just like an old-timey cartoon, as the pairing of engaging and tight gameplay complete a nostalgia trip while being thoroughly challenged unlike other current (easier) games.
? Main contention ?
In the surface, it cannot be comprehended why this beautiful 2D drawn medium would ever be going away but if we went a little deeper, the amount of works being put in to draw and animate them is the reason why they are so full of characters, which is the Catch-22 here.
- Lowlights -
Daunting and unforgiving difficulty levels that would force the players to not be comfortable and lean on their laurels but rather train them to be adept just like in the early formative years before, be fully aware and sharp during every second of the gameplay, for better or for worse.
-
Chance of Proof of Concept Success =
over 90% as it would be novel trip down a familiar plane albeit with a different yet still difficult gameplay, a heavy Cuphead take on Dark Souls' world.
a case for the perfect pairing of gaming IPs with nigh impossible challenges:
+ Highlights +
The design choices made by the game designers for both games is so in sync that they couldn't find a better pairing, forcing the players to learn from their mistakes and perfecting their runs.
? Main contention ?
Having to exchange one game's visual flairs for another when this particular crossover event to be considered, in this approach the style and gameplay of Cuphead would be the through line of the game while locations and enemies of Dark Souls would be converted into Cuphead's style, for better or for worse.
- Lowlights -
Something will be lost in the shuffle if this crossover will keep going as the singular experience of Dark Souls will be replaced by co-op play heavy approach of Cuphead for example ...

Possibility of ever happening =
under 50% since StudioMDHR behind Cuphead took years to animate the game between the two of them while FromSoftware of Dark Souls doesn't specialize for 2D animations. If both studios collaborate and animate the game together though ...
