LOST and the Leftover's Damon Lindelof to showrun HBO's Watchmen Series
Damon Lindelof's Watchmen
HBO
[2019?]
Project Viability =
above 80% with HBO being the best place with the Leftovers former showrunner.
Chance of Success =
below 70% with Damon's capable hands leading an ambitiously impossible project.
a case for Alan Moore's beloved comic epic:

+ Positive +
A master of the craft using the medium to the best of his abilities that was ahead of his time, dealing with the facade of superheroes who hide behind their masks and fight with their inner demons and humane emotions and using their abilities for good or abusing them to no end.
? Main contention ?
The approach of storytelling is focused more on the dialogues between the characters instead of using the drawn visuals to tell everything, which is why it is such a tricky task to adapt it into another format ... they have to find the right balance between representing the comic particular looks and representing the philosopichal idea and grandeur ideas being discussed. Let's hope for the best!.
- Negative -
The author infamously stated that he would not support any adaptation of his works particularly since he wrote it solely for the medium of comic books ... if the first try wasn't to liking, maybe another go in a smaller medium but with longer runtime to flesh out the storyline and characters would be the perfect formula.

a case for Damon's established small screen career:
+ Positive +
Handling series full of mysteries and twists and turns effectively, it is a different animal altogether if superhero materials are concerned and Watchmen is one giant intricate beast that is on another level ... yet he is the best person to handle it right now.
? Main contention ?
Despite being quite active in the movie industry, his more prominent television works are LOST and then the Leftovers and both would be the a great indication of how his eventual Watchmen series would be in the end.
- Negative -
Detractors would be quick to bring up the drawbacks of some of his past works despite him learning from his mistakes and keep going from strengths to strengths.

a case for Zack Snyder's feature adaptation and HBO's ambitious series:

+ Positive +
Having delved into a lot of genres i.e. western, mafia, war and medieval fantasy resulted with acclaimed success under their belts, it is about time (and a timely decision) for the company to have a go with a superhero show of their own. They certainly prepared with the best team available as the partnership with Lindelof keep going strong after the Leftovers ends with aplomb.
? Main contention ?
As the premier leading channel for premium content, HBO have been developing original contents that has been hugely successful more than most from Deadwood to Game of Thrones, showing off their competency in handling million dollar projects with grand scales and excel in the execution. It is the perfect place for such an unique endeavour to take place but their approach to the material is what matters in the end.
- Negative -
Zack's decision to faithfully adapt directly straight off the pages to the silver screen proven to be divisive at best in the end which this production should (and most possibly would) learn lesson from.
