Tips, see Thursday 025 & misc list 137
Oh, I was thinking of what to cover then something crossed my mind.
Since I can actually jog more regularly now, I want to introduce some varieties that can be included that can make it that much more varied and in turns enjoyable. To me at least ... :
#064: side to side
Just jogging might be a bit monotonous for some so why not do the side steps (I can't remember the exact technical name ...) between them just to break the repetitious cycle. It's not only working the other muscles on your legs on the side that's not affected during your usual jog, you can cut down on the distance by moving further than if you take a rest by just walking. I always let myself know that I can't just walk the rest of the way.
#065: play with the paces
Being just aware how pacing really affect my run, you should already know your own personal pace that you are most comfortable with and keep at it. For the sake of variety and adding a bit of challenge, why not vary the intensity whether slower or faster, working your body in a way that you've never felt before. Sure you might get winded a lot faster than before, but it will be worth it hopefully in the long run, pardon the pun.
#066: take a step backward
Well, this is something that I know not all people could do. Have you tried walking backward? What about jog backward? It was daunting and scary at first but now I am used to it already, jogging backward in a steady pace with speed similar to my usual forward jog. I still can't go over a minute since it's working the muscles at the back of the legs instead of the front and I get tired in a different way. Just make sure nobody's in your way, okay? Since you can't look back when jogging backward, make sure your lane is free before starting and if you can't jog in a straight line, don't do it since I don't want you to jog into something and hurt yourself! Be careful please ...

Well, that's all folks! Thank you for your time and please do come back for my future posts! :-)
