Last Week in Pop Culture 025, 1st week of March 2019
Resetting back after that small hiatus.
Here's my accumulated news list for last week that I used for references for this post.
01. Arrow to end after 10-episode Season 8
Well, it's bound to happen eventually. I follow the evolution of DCCW universe from the first episode of this series until now and while the series has its ups and down and is on the upward trajectory currently, I can see why they would end it after airing since 2012 because they have gone so many places throughout and they might have just milk the cow dry so to speak. It is time for the originator to make way for others to take their place ... maybe Batwoman?.

02. Critical Role gets animated in the Legend of Vox Machina series
"The team has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to bring The Legend of Vox Machina to life as an animated series, expected to debut in Fall 2020. The show will be co-written by the Critical Role team along with TV writer Jennifer Muro (Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, Spider-Man, Justice League: Action). Handling the animation will be Chris Prynoski‘s Titmouse, the Emmy award-winning animation production company behind the hits Big Mouth, The Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, Niko and the Sword of Light and Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures. Voice actors Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey and Ashley Johnson. As of this writing, the campaign, which was asking for $750,000, is currently funded at $7,039,544 and rising, almost reaching their current most expensive stretch goal. Now, the animated series will go from a 22-minute special to an 88-minute epic, along with three Critical Role one-shots. That’s the power of fandom!"

12. Stressed out: Anxiety a bigger concern for teens than drugs, poverty
"Teens were the most likely to say stress and anxiety were of major concern for their peers — more than drug addiction, bullying or poverty, according to a new study by Pew Research Center.
Why it matters: Teens are growing up in a world of publicized mass shootings, dire climate change warnings, poor economic futures without a college degree and extreme political partisanship, and they are more stressed about those things than adults overall, according to the American Psychological Association.
Between the lines: Getting good grades was the top pressure for teens, with 61% telling Pew they felt "a lot" of pressure to do so.
More than 60% also felt at least some pressure to look good, fit in socially and be involved in extracurricular activities.
Pressure to drink or do drugs was at the bottom of the list — only around 15% of teens felt pressure to do so.
Teenage girls are more likely than boys to feel pressure to look good and to experience tension or nervousness every day or almost every day.
Teen girls are also more likely to plan to attend college than teen boys, which mirrors the fact that women are now more likely to be college graduates than men."
