Legends of Tomorrow

[CW]
Being the most unconventional show in the Flarroweverse, I am glad to see them playing a bit with the formula as we see the Legends do not right away handle more supernatural threats but instead letting them taking a breathe for once and view their lives post Beeboo-pocalypse and outside of these time travel heroics, such as Nathan's real father (played by Biff Tannen no less! I love his podcasts before) and Sarah Lance's developing relationship. Then of course we eventually being introduced to the first monster of the week, and it is none other than the magical unicorn, in the 70's at the Woodstock of course! It is certainly majestic but I do not know it is bloodthirsty as well! Is that in the original lore? Darn, I was genuinely surprised and spooked then! Of course it can hallucinate the prey which is in theme with the movement back then and that brings about a couple of entertaining exchanges. I am looking forward to see Constantine being fully implemented into the Legends and his little interactions here with the rest of the cast really tickle me to no end. We might be introduced to the big bad of the season at the end there and his origin will be up in the air for now, whether it comes about from the Legends messing with the Portal or is it conjured by the Scotsman himself in that six month period? Could it even be the one tormenting him back in his original solo show? I can wish since this will give Matt Ryan a lot of credits.

Having Nicky Cross involved with the main title storyline was quite a treat to see especially her interactions with the other male wrestlers and until she gets involve with the female's once again which I guarantee is sooner rather than later (or until before she gets call up), she will keep us entertained with an exciting match with a guest veteran in Mercedes Martinez, with the latter respectively putting over the former as a viable Wild Card threat. Giving room for up-and-coming tag teams to thrive and further develop their characters is something that I always agree with and this is the case with the Mighty and Street Profit as the fight for their stolen property makes the homegrown talents show us there are substance under these flashy veneer so to speak. The attack on Aleister Black seems to be masterminded by surprisingly Johnny Gargano and they will settle their differences in the ring later on, and I love the slow burn approach they use to tell this story. Lars Sullivan is not happy that Velveteen Dream comes ahead of him to fight for the NXT Championship and when it is said and done, it won't just be one opponent Tomasso Ciampa has to face in the end. The highlight of the night to see the debut match of Matt Riddle against Luke Menzies and while it's not a squash match some wants it to be, I am glad to know nothing of him other than just his MMA background and being surprised by his performance in the ring. He has the potential to go far in the future. The NXT Women's Title is getting a deserved breather for this week while we see Birch and Lorcan living up to their moniker of the toughest duo of NXT, but it shouldn't put down the potential in Alberto and Mendoza at the least. You can see it coming right away but it shouldn't restrict me of enjoying the street fight that spills into the ring between the War Raiders, Ricochet and Pete Dunne against the Undisputed Era. Last time out they were exceptional in reinventing the cult-favourite concept of War Games into an exhilarating rollercoaster and I can't wait to see what they will do with this second edition. NXT PPVs have that much more intrigues than the main roster, right?

I've heard of this being a quintessential sports youth throwback film but never know what kind of film it was and when I came across it on my local streaming platform, I didn't know what I was into then but now I am glad that I stayed tuned until the end! All these kids are being brought together for the love of the sport of baseball and while it is the focus of the film, it is side adventures of their typical life as adolescence in the summer back then that really flesh them out and create some funny scenes to be had i.e. at the public pool. I was expecting a full fledged typical sport storyline of the ragtag team winning a tournament of something of that ilk but while it was teased for a tad, it took a little detour that I didn't see coming in how far (to a bigger-than-life and ludicrous degree) they'll go with it for the second half of the feature. All in all, it is a delightful watch that stays true to the innocence of childhood and the power of passion. Give it a go!

Well, that's all folks! Thank you for your time and please do come back for my future posts! :-)
