guilty pleasures Tuesday 013 & misc list 077
+ cheery colourful outits + glee over matching outfits + pop culture representation - risk of looking stupid + pleasure in being daring in eyecatching clothing = High
As I've mentioned before, I've been experimenting with my wardrobe choices and has been embracing the more colourful clothes compared to my previous bland preferences. Then I begin to venture into matching the shirt with the pants and even the hat! Color coordination is a delicate thing to perfectly balance since too much in the wrong direction would resulted in a too garish of a combination. After my oldest brother telling me of his surprise of seeing in full pink (yup! not neon bright, just muted enough) getup last week, I know it is a guilty pleasure of mine that would only apply to myself in my family.
Have you ever try it before actually? Have you ever caught yourself in a shirt that has the same colour scheme with your pants and thinking, "oh, that's neat!"? Well, the first time that happened to me was when I was in the university with a brown pants and a jacket (that I still have) and wore them together whenever I could between going to the classes or just going out. Even though I wasn't actively looking for clothes with matching colours right after that, it was now the sensation that I sought after especially when I am the one buying my own clothes this time around rather than hand-me-downs. Don't get me wrong, I am always lucky to have some that fit me quite well but having the choice to choose your own really provides me a new sense of adventure I have to say.
Going back to the topic itself, I do not actually exclusively shop for the sake of having matching wardrobe but when the opportunity presents itself, I will take it into account when I am deciding which one to buy between a couple for example. Black is just too easy to match or contrast with the pants so I will look into which primary colour would contrast well with my limited amounts of pants of jeans and slacks such as dark green shirt with light brown pants. There are other successful pairings but it is when I feel a bit adventurous that I would try to wear the whole getup in the same colour or at least different shades of the same basic colour, light green for the pants, dark green for the shirt and neon green for the sweaters. People don't really notice me or my wardrobe whenever I am out but it is just a simple pleasure for me to wear something that I picked out myself and having them all matched make it a bit better to me somehow.
I guess that's the basis for guilty pleasures, right? You never have valid reason to do it but it is just rewarding to you somehow in the end. What do you think of people that wear colour-coordinated outfit?
Do you have your own guilty pleasure that is in the same veins as mine here?

there is only three concerns per episode and I wish there would be more so they could help more people.
I love that so many properties are being adapted year after year, making those who aren't familiar with the source materials to delve into them!

No list for today ... I could've listed a few of my favourite concerns but my memory is just not that good.
