Going back to the future to hunt down monsters.

video of the day 018 & what if? 006
Samurai Jack x the Witcher short
duration: 3 min 48 sec, released: July 16th, 2018
Short Effectiveness = 100% in its surprising crossover effectiveness and how they blend together so beautifully!

chance of Happening & chance of Success
=
just above 50% because of the upcoming live action series and the possibility of them venturing into animation next if it's successful but the original animators wouldn't go back to it
This has been in works for so long but since I still love this particular short, I want to highlight it nevertheless. Seeing it the first time before it right away registered as Samurai Jack just because of the clean aesthetic and the shade of the colours ... but then I was positively surprised when I could tell it was Gerald right away! Seeing how the rest of the sequence played out gave me so much joy as fans of both properties; seeing the slow unraveling reminisce of the former while the latter's character and particular job translated so seamlessly into this 2D world. All the NSFW details with all the blood and dismemberment just emphasize how beautiful this marriage is! Ah, I wish Netflix will make this series to follow up the Henry Cavill's ... considering how diverse their latest projects are, I won't rule it out. Here's hoping!

a case for the impeccable short:
+ Positives +
Surprisingly perfect marriage with the setting of the Witcher and styles of Samurai Jack.
? Main contention ?
Since the former leans more heavily on mature materials (if you've played the games, you'll know), I'm not sure how they will translate ...
- Negatives -
This just makes me wish for more, but I know it will never come ...
--
a case for the animated witch adaption:
+ Positive +
This should at least get a conversation going for an animation adaptation.
? Main contention ?
Not sure on who is holding the right ...
- Negative -
There will be a long wait for any news on this front.
---
- Synopsis -
Geralt faces up to a Griffin. Armed with only his blade and his wits, will he come out of the hunt alive?.
