POP's wish list 013 miscellanous {misc} [pop culture]
It's been slower this week since I couldn't decide what to post to alternate between the sketches ... so here is one:
#001 Yu-Gi-Oh!
It has been mentioned a couple of time by Franklyn in his previous videos that they are rumoured to adapt this longstanding manga-turned-anime-turned-game-series and I think it would be celebrated when it is out since it is still have a presence in the current pop culture however diminished it is. The visually and characteristically colourful characters certainly would translate better than others!
Traits: Vibrant colours & unique fantastical characters. Viability: over 80% since it's been rumored.
#002 WWE's Kurt Angle
There are so many other wrestlers that have not been adapted yet by Funko but there isn't no one more legendary or rather unique than Kurt Angle! Seamlessly changed his profession from a professional Olympic caliber athlete to a professional wrestler, his one-of-a-kind look with that red-white-and-blue singlet and of course that medals would never be mistaken as anyone else.
Traits: His trademark look that would uniquely his.
Viability: over 80% since he's been back in WWE and 'actively' wrestling.
#003 N'Sync No String Attached
Rather than picking the one in the video, Back Street Boys, I think N'Sync would translate much better into Funko Moment especially if they use this particular concept for their one song, No String Attached. I'm a fan of both boy bands when they came out years ago but I have to admit that they are not known for their wardrobe for each song's music video. A quick Google of the list of song of Back Street Boys mentioned above didn't show any iconic looks that fans would know right away is from a certain music video ... unlike for the one I am highlighting here! I think you'll agree with me, right
Traits: Throwback 90's looks with a novel concept of being puppets themselves.
Viability: below 70% if the rumour above is to be believed ... if so, N'Sync should be next!
#004 Champions Online's Jet Boots
I've never had the chance to play the game myself before but I know that there were a lot of people playing it during its MMORPG run and this'll be a fitting tribute to a fallen solid game of yesteryears. Traits: It's a superhero game, the combination is limitless, but that would be tricky to adapt ... I'm not sure about Jet Boots here, but it could be one of the main NPC that the players could identify with.
Viability: around 65% since it is quite a dated game now ... but there are many older properties being adapted already, aren't there?
