Trailer Review 037 Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Trailer Effectiveness = 100%
Chance of Success = 90%
+ Highlights +
PS4 Pro capabilities bringing full visual performance the new engine could provide with High Definition Range (HDR)
i.e. the morning sun behind the solitary cowboy on the horse, the sunshine shining through the branches, the bright rays from the campfire while the other unaffected trees are being naturally lit by the night sky full of stars, the perfect framing of the cowboy seeing his(?) livestock walking past him as the light dynamic light looks effective here, the contrast of the natural moonlight with the fire burning up smokes through the compound, the naturalistic fire effect burning through the vegetation
more wildlife (dear, rat(?), beaver, buck, bison, vulture(?)) to hunt and skin with more lush and realistic vast natural range to go through
i.e. the lively valley, the picturesque mountain range with familiar creeks and rivers, the foggy river being navigated through by a couple of people in a canoe, even the train being accompanied by the bison,
the more powerful engine able to simulate more i.e. providing minute details such as scurrying rats, chriping small birds, the pluffs of smoke off the train, the mud being kicked up by the wheels of the cart, the floating embers of fire
the realistic recreation of shop(s) from a bygone era
the natural circle of life being represented the vultures eating through the carcass while its friend(?) the dog, helplessly howling
perfect somber music accompaniment
possible nod to the scene in 'There will be Blood' in the introduction of a possible protagonist or antagonist followed straight away with a shot of seven cowboys or outlaws (and possibly one female character) riding their horses with their weapons brandished heading somewhere into the horizon
? Points of contention ?
broken machinery foreshadowing the transition of power or just good old evolution to superior method,
more possible RPG elements i.e. camping in the wilderness while trying to cater to your hunger and warmth and managing your resources & having a more complex ranch to manage and expand with the vast empty land ripe for development & the diverse weather system and the changes of seasons
addition of more forms of transportation i.e. canoe, the returning steam train,
inclusion of native Indians considering the dream-catcher
the storyline from the first game of the extinction of bison being possibly carried on here
the possible job of carpentry and maybe constructing something up and seeing it finish finally
the invention of electricity playing a major part with the appearance of the light serves as an visible hint
the buildings made out of bricks rather than woods representing the possible time jump from the first game or maybe just a more established hub the main protagonist would frequent in this iteration
the seven individuals could be representing their intention to introduce multiplayer mode into the franchise and even into the main storyline
- Lowlights -
No PC again! (yet anyway, hopefully ...)
Listen to me. When the time comes, you gotta run and don't look back. This is over.
