As I try to end the solat...

volume - speed - tertib
pet peeves Monday 048 & misc list 248
I'll keep this short since... I'm really self-deprived right now, at least for the last time!
I noticed this at the last Tarawih last night... When we're all done with the solah, we will read the doa to finish up the pray but when you're praying with the other Muslims in the surau or mosque, only for Tarawih, the bilal will recite a verse and the others will repeat or reply with another. Here's where I heard these pet peeves:

#109: force for good
Please do not recite at an abnormally high volume that would disturb other people's concentration or even drown out the bilal's recital. We're not competing around here, you'll sound like someone that's showing off.

#110: strength in number
If you do, please try to recite at the same speed as others. It's not really that hard! When you're loud or at least louder than the volume of the others, it is highly distracting when you end your recital quickly or late compared to the rest and might even mess up the other's recital. Please be considerate.

#111: putting up a front
Finally if you insist, please recite properly without mistake! If you're not only loud and trying to control the speed, please don't recite any of the words wrong. You'll sound so immature when you're the loudest yet shouting with the wrong pronunciation! Being loud doesn't mean you're right!

Well, that's all folks! Thank you for your time and please do come back for my future posts! :-)
