Custom POP throwback 011 #103 to #110
Going more deep into the pop culture tapestry. Some throwbacks as well as new iterations!
#103 Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider (Agents of SHIELD) My favourite iteration of the Rider yet and I am still so happy that I was able to pay such a beautiful tribute to his version on the show. That skull was really hard to properly adapt as I took hours to follow the previous iteration (Mortal Kombat X's Scorpion if my mind serves me correctly). It's still a crime that they haven't adapt him yet! Maybe if he shows up in the next season ...
#104 David Heller (Legion) As I've probably mentioned before, this is such a trippy and out-there show that it serves only a niche audience that Funko wouldn't even cross their minds to adapt the characters. And that's where I came in, adapting the main protagonist in the admittedly stylish outfit and I use minimalist approach to adapt him that I think you can tell this is him right away, with the right facial hair and hairstyle. Now to draw the other that's at the opposite end of the cloth ...
#105 Laura Moon reanimated (American Gods) I knew this would be a daunting task the moment I saw her screenshot and decided to tackle it anyway. I love the final product really and while the colour didn't turn out as dark as the original, I love every aspect of it, from the hand holding the hand, the flies, the blood and of course the raised eyebrow and slight glare combo. With the second season approaching, the time is nigh for another wave.
#106 Miek (Thor: Ragnarok) Since they already made one albeit only in Mystery Mini, I decided to adapt it just for being curious of how it will turn out. It looks good though and maybe it will get its just dessert after being carried by Korg all this time.
#107 Danny Fenton|Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom) Yeah, I know in the show he mostly shown to transform from top or rather middle to the outside but since I couldn't do this duality concept I wanted, I took a little creative liberty. If I do say so myself, it was the correct decision to take retrospectively and I think it will look great in the real official version as is honestly.
#108 Teela (Masters of the Universe) Since there are so many characters on the show, I decided to adapt those who haven't been yet, and she is my first choice to start. The orange colour of the hair really pops out, especially playing off against the golden quite well. The shoulder could've been less far out, but it's a decent effort nonetheless.
#109 Jay Garrick (the Flash) I always appreciate the live action shows are not afraid to adapt the earlier or rather alternate versions of the superheroes. The retro look surprisingly transfer to real life quite effectively while its transition to POP fared well as well. Such a perfect look, with the steel cap tying it all together.
#110 Woody Woodpecker (Woody Woodpecker) I'm not proud of how the colours do not translate well into their scanned versions, hence the smallest resolution to indicate my personal view on it. Nevertheless, this is an easy POP for Funko to sell since it gets its own brand recognition and they will do a much better job than mine.
