Last Week in Pop Culture 019, 4th week of January 2019
It is getting busier and busier!
Here's my accumulated news list for last week that I used for reference for this post.
01. American Gods Season Two [March 10th] (Starz)
I miss it last week but it's never too late! Let's hope the wait is worth it!

04. Kevin Smith fires up Jay and Silent Bob reboot with Saban Films
“Last February, I almost died. So on the one year anniversary of my widow maker heart attack, as my best friend and I will be rolling cameras on a sequel/remake/reboot of a movie we first made nearly twenty years ago! In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back our herbal heroes found out Hollywood was making a movie based on them, so they journeyed out to Hollywood to stop it. But I’ve learned so much as a storyteller and have grown immensely as a filmmaker since then, so audiences can expect something completely different: In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot our herbal heroes find out Hollywood is making a reboot of the old movie that was based on them, so they journey out to Hollywood to stop it again. I offer my (literal) undying thanks to our amazing partners at Saban and Universal for making this dream come true and backing this cinematic silliness!”
This is such a great news for me as an avid listener to his podcasts, especially after that health scare! He had to redo a scene in Hollyweed since he lost so much weight after the pilot! He is bouncing back!

05. Metroid Prime 4's development restarting with Retro Studios
The link has the full message and transcript by Shinya Takahashi and it is unfortunate for them to postpone the game indefinitely. But after seeing how many bad and straight up unfinished games have been released recently by big studios that were respected before for their stellar games, I am just glad as a gamer that a big studio like Nintendo is brave enough to admit their missteps and regroup in order to come up with a better product. They are setting a great example by having full transparency in order to alleviate fan's concerns that'd prevent a massive backlash and instead make them be understanding.

09. Roman Reigns is joining his cousin the Rock in Hobbs & Shaw while fighting leukemia!
Yeah, he is really seeing the silver lining in the storm! Even if you do not like his character in WWE, you have to give credits to him as a human to be strong in the eyes of the returning leukemia and even strong enough to film his first ever movie role alongside the Rock! He is providing support to his ailing family member the only way he can.

12. the Boys, blue-collar vigilantes taking down corrupt superheroese (Amazon Prime)
That quick look is what I imagine the comic coming to life!
------------
13. the Umbrella Academy [February 15th] (Netflix)
A Dark Horse Comics series by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way and illustrator Gabriel Bá. The premise is a unique twist of superhero origin and school.
