The always recognizable ticking of a now classic mechanical clock was introduced as the basis of the soundtrack going through this teaser, representing the time period this particular event took place and more importantly its through line of time slowly running out as they were trapped in this devastating predicament. With the foam on the beach being fervently blown away by the brutal winds, it zoomed out to reveal the expansive beach with a number of soldiers and a foreboding thick smoke at the end of it with their black outlines contrasting well with the overall mute color of the scenes.

As the ticking and music started to build up over the list of movies the directors would surely be renowned for, the next ominous scene showed a fortification with more soldiers facing the sea looking over it, waiting in fear motionless as the waves kept coming nonstop.

"At the point of crisis," read the first tagline on the screen with the following scene showed a soldier stripping away his equipment off of his body while appeared to be walking straight into the rough sea.

"At the point of annihilation," the image representation followed suit with a row of blanketed fallen comrades as the surviving brothers in arms standing in droves and watching from afar, again showcasing the mother nature's force as well as the still unseen enemies' might. The scope of the movie itself was being subtly emphasized by the amount of able bodies on foot there on the sands, smartly focusing on the affect of the war instead of the massive ground it covered.

"Survival is victory." As the soundtrack cut out with the sound of the waves still remaining, the last representative look of the latest Nolan work showed a closer look of one of the boats filled with soldiers appeared to be waiting for inevitable, as one of them noticed the sound of the impending aircraft coming directly at them, with them reacting like a bunch of crowd started to one by one witnessing something terrible about to happen to them and they only could buckle down and brace for the unavoidable impact.
The teaser ended with the title of the movie superimposed on the blue of the sea, simply emphasizing the important role it would play while just using its beautiful blue color to contrast with the muted color the scenes are shot.
- Synopsis -
Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, Canada and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.
(Director Christopher Nolan [Inception, Interstellar, the Dark Knight Trilogy], Music Hans Zimmer, Genre Action, Drama, History, World War)
+ Highlights: the power of the name of the director only and his without using the stacked cast in the trailer, the muted but still gorgeous cinematography of the beach, the force of mother nature and the unseen enemies and their affects on them, the reactions (minus one) of the soldiers on the impending interaction with enemy aircraft, the smart sound editing
- Lowlights: the possible oversaturation of war movies despite the long interval between them nowadays, a number of stupid extras on the boat not in character and reacted naturally to what was happening, in a Christopher Nolan movie!
