Practicality to the Nth Degree
What?a practical 125 feet 'leap of faith' on-screen representation for Assassin's Creed movie
Who?stunt double Damien Walters
How?gradual increase of height that ended at the highest 125 feet from a platform suspended in the air and a swan dive right onto 10x10m airbag
Why?the movie director Justin Kurzel wanted to be as practical as he could with the production
Then?as far as CGI has gone over these years, nothing beats someone risking his limbs and even life for a two second shot that would look spectacular if done perfectly or futile if gone horribly wrong
So?regarding the movie itself, it's looking great so far for the adaptation of a loved franchise if the production team wanted to be as authentic as possible in recreating every trademark action sequences from the game itself
Lesson Learned:"If it worth the risk, it's worth overdoing it."That's not the right one, right?
