Castlevania
(Rated R)
[first season late 2017]
Chance of Success = definitely over 80% with Adi Shankar at the helm and Frederator animating the series
a case for the reboot:
+ Positive +
taking advantage of the free reign presented by the Netflix platform, the unrestrained rating of R would be used to the fullest by the show creator to properly represent the infamously bloody and brutal world of the famed franchise and the mini-series format of it (four episodes with 30 minutes per episode) would make it a short and sweet debut season without any unnecessary fat,
with a successful producer at the helm and a history of smart understanding of each property (such as in Dredd and even the hit Power Rangers short) coupling with an established American animation studio (Adventure Time and the Fairly Oddparents) would and should be a successful collaboration with Adi Shankar leading the animators into their first R-rated territory.
? Main contention ?
the same point that would always be brought up when restraint is concerned: creativity would be much more needed hence better utilized when there are things they can't do and have to find ways around it ... if they were free to do anything, could they limit themselves without going overboard?
with anime being the main genre of animation it would take, how good would Frederator be in animating something out of their wheelhouse after so many years?
there's always a tendency to do straight-to-live-action-feature adaptation of any established property as the current trend in the industry and whether or not this would lead to that, it's always smart to test the water first and see if it's a working premise or not.
- Negative -
while the show will follow the history of the game franchise, it will feature a new descendant of the Belmont line rather than using an existing character which would let the developer to craft their own storyline along the history of the games and be a good companion piece for anyone playing through the franchise although fans wanting the original protagonists to be at the center of the attention would be left wanting.

- Synopsis -
Inspired by the classic video game series (specifically Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse), Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself..

Trailer Effectiveness = well over 90% without spoiling much
a case for the last Defender:
+ Positive +
focusing on the pure martial art form of kung-fu compared to the modified version used by Daredevil,
delving more into the supernatural side of the Marvel Universe with his source of power is steep in Eastern mythology in the original comic books.
? Main contention ?
how different could it look and feel compared to the others i.e. the totally individualistic Luke Cage,
how much would his journey tied into the other preceding Netflix series, with Madam Gao featured in the trailer as well as the Netflix's Coulson, Claire Temple, and being the one to lead to the big ensemble mini-series, there's a lot on their shoulders to bare to first be a successful Iron Fist debut season while building up the momentum and hype for the team-up.
- Negative -
the tired and outdated trope of white knight coming into rescue by using the culture and ideology from the East could be viewed to be rather racist and offensive in today's world,
the main storyline of a rich heir trying to gain his family's wealth again would appear to be the most inconsequential and unrelatable among the Defenders' backstory.

Duck Tales
[Summer 2017]
Trailer Effectiveness = 100% by paying tribute while introducing the new cast
here's the first look!
Chance of Success = well over 90% but the risk is there
a case for the reboot:
+ Positive +
beloved childhood animated series being brought to life again for the current generation that's unfamiliar with the franchise.
? Main contention ?
looking back retroactively, there were a lot of childish tropes being more juvenile and catered more towards the younger demographic instead of appealing to those who're young at heart,
the simple concept of the original would definitely being padded with a lot of layers but how much would be too much that it would be too cluttered until overshadowing the show itself?

- Negative -
the original voice over cast would not return to reprise their roles which would irk the longtime fans although the new talented talents would definitely put their own spin and flair on these characters to make them their own and adding more depth and color (more than usual),
the understandable update of the animation and visuals that would make use of today's advancement of the industry although how much is really needed before the original's feel and style is lost in transition?
