US's Proposed Muslim Registry
What?
A conversation with one of the many that spent time in the internment camps during Second World War, a move by the US government out of fear and blatant racism to condemn their citizens just because of their own race ... which has been the same issue that is brought up in conversation regarding the proposed Muslim Registry as it focused on a specific religion.
Who?
The current President-Elect had a constant stance against the illegal immigration the country is facing and when he would get into power next year, the improbable future for all the immigrants legal or not in the Land of the Free would be under jeopardy.
How?
An official government registry sounded acceptable and even viable on paper but when it would actually carried out in the future, having a whole subset of your citizens being called in and group together to ideally prevent future potential terrorist attacks but during the process would publicly isolate them in the eyes of the citizens.
Why?
The attacks by the small but effective radicals mostly in the war torn Eastern countries have been affecting everyone and even influenced some to do the same around the world and although it has been noticeably happening lesser recently, the lingering threat is still there and with the fear at all time high, anything done in the name of battling the phenomenon would be viewed unfortunately as just.
Then?
Circumstances then and now are completely different but the current trend and culture has been going for the worse worldwide and as people were affected by the consequences of war, Americans today would be affected by the fear-mongering and again support this kind of discrimination.
So?
A rotten few spoiled the whole ideology as the extremists successfully instill the fear of their movement but in turns make the other devout yet innocent Muslims around the world being unfairly treated and judged. It is up to the masses to avoid mass discrimination of any race and religion to ensure the world is safe and happy for all of us to live together.
Lesson Learned:
It could always get worse ... do you think it's a good thing or a bad thing?
