the Misconception of 'Late' Pregnancy

What?
The long-running misconception on how woman's fertility rate supposedly plummets after the age of 35 and how it is based on a 400 years old study without counting in the modern medicines.
How? Who?
That dated data does not hold up against today's advancement such as modern medicine, with fertility treatment and antibiotics are some of the benefits of  that would aid in keeping the fertility rate up.
Why?
Our way of life now is drastically different than how we were in the 1600 and since now we could do more comprehensive and accurate studies, the chances of getting pregnant for example come down by only 4% after ten years, showing age does not affect fertility by much. Even the birth defect argument was over-sensationalize (from 0.5% to 1%, or "doubled") just for the sake of selling more magazines.
Then? So?
The height of this fear-mongering is when corporations started to take advantage of women who is caught up on this fertility fear i.e. egg-freezing industry. If only the conversation around this sensitive subject could be more informative and facts-based instead of more scares and negativity-based. Get pregnant when you are naturally inclined to, instead of feeling forced to do so because of the fear of your biological clock is about to run out.

Lesson Learned:
Do not give in to the society convention if you're not sure of their validity. Do a proper research before you're doing something out of fear instead of out of love.
