Picture Review 002 Supergirl's with Superman
Supergirl with Superman (CW)
Season Two premiered October 10, 2016
"With the recent widely received but heavily critiqued season of Supergirl came to a close on CBS, the appropriate move to CW brought itself closer to the DC TV Universe's other established superheroes and also the need to bring to life her more recognizable cousin.
"Promotional images from any show nowadays would look heavily edited and needlessly photoshopped to appeal to the Hollywood standard but on this particular matter, the first look of the CW's Superman portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin didn't exactly paint him in a positive light with his suit appeared to be a good representation of its silver screen counterpart while he himself doesn't appear convincingly as the Man of Steel ...
"... while the candid set pictures above captured the essence of the famed superhero ironically more than the official item. This is an evidence in arguing that representative pictures of comic book characters should focus more on capturing their own particular imagery and unique characteristics rather than trying to look aesthetically pleasing to their own detriment.
"This particular imagery from the first season captured its imagery perfectly by depending purely on its now recognizable silhouette while the below picture of the earlier iteration of these two beings letting the actors and their poses did the talking without unnecessary touch-ups.

+ Highlights: a good representation of the Superman's suit from the silver screen & the candid set photos do the actor more justice than the official promo
- Lowlights: the awkward look of Superman in the first promotional photo & the stationary nature of picture giving a limited spectrum to judge the portrayal
