Trailer Review 016 Star Trek Beyond Second Trailer
Star Trek Beyond [072216]
Chance of Success = 70%
After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.
(Director Justin Lin [Fast & Furious franchise], Writer Roberto Orci [Star Trek] & Simon Pegg [the World's End], Budget $150 Millions, Rating PG-13(?), Genre - Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Space, Star Trek Universe)
~ Appeared to be as a direct response to the ill-fated first trailer that is cut to look like an action-heavy movie that is unfairly compared to the new director's previous films and completely the opposite of Star Trek's original more philosophical and family-oriented tone, with more blame should be put on the marketing team's decision to cash in on the director's reputation especially after the recent success of Furios 7
~ A direct contrast to the previous trailer, a second look of the latest iteration of this longstanding franchise focuses more on the core crews of the Enterprise with the main through line is Captain Kirk's struggle to find himself internally while an external force forced them to abandon their mutual journey together and away from each other, having a new, different dynamic in this universe by revolving around the theme of family and their specific roles in this particular one
