Gettin' Jiggy to the Left for some Honey!

Disney's Movie Casting News:
Aladdin's Genie is Will Smith, Lion King's Nala and Timon and Pumba are Beyonce and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner and Ewan McGregor in Winnie the Pooh's Hook take

Will Smith for Aladdin's Genie
[2019?]
Chance of Success =
almost to 80% with his capability yet the late's signature role is just that huge
-
a case for the Hollywood top star for Aladdin's top star:
+ Positive +
one of the most renowned actors of the generation in line with Denzel Washington and George Clooney because of his prolonged career ranging from a singing sitcom lead to a bonafide action star to a believable serious performer across almost all of the genres, as his consistent box office earning back this up,
~
a very capable master of the craft that have quite a range from physical roles to ones that have more emotional resonance, he's mostly known for his onscreen persona and appearance and despite his limited experience in voice acting (aside from Sharks Tale), his own particular voice conveys a lot from his arresting charisma and personalities as it's uniquely his and audience  would be able to recognize it.
? Main contention ?
basically replacing a comedian with an actor, the former's hilarious portrayal of the blue jinn complimented by his ability to give a more emotional performance (as evident in his diverse acting repertoire) while the latter would need to rely on his memorable singing career in the musical scenes (that would return unless stated otherwise) and although he isn't as comedically inclined, his charming and natural personality would be his best asset in this more subdued take on the premise,
~
despite the $1 billion revenue the adaptation of the classic Beauty and the Beast have recouped, the critics have been aimed directly against the CGI recreation of the characters that were lovingly drawn and have lost some of the original's charm and look ... aside from the Middle-Eastern locales that would be as authentic as they could (if the casting of local talents is to be believed), they should have learned from the feedback to represent the signature animated macaw a la the recent the Jungle Book, the flying carpet ala Doctor Strange's familiar Cape and the most important of all, the Genie, as he would be partially live action and complimented by CGI and that blue color hue needs to be the same and somehow not look out of place in real life. They would have their work cut out for them.
- Negative -
no matter who the replacement is, he would always be compared and measured to the original's iconic performance by the late Robbie Williams and unjustifiably labeled as a poor replacement despite the eventual finished product in the live-action movie.

Cast
Will Smith(?) as Genie ...

- Synopsis -
When a street urchin vies for the love of a beautiful princess, he uses a genie's magic power to make himself off as a prince in order to marry her.

(Director - Guy Ritchie [King Arthur: LotS, RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes, Snatch, the Man from UNCLE],
Genre - Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Family, Fantasy)

Lion King's Nala and Timon and Pumbaa
[July 19th, 2019]

Chance of Success =
just 85% because of Jon Favreau's touch yet being the first all-CGI movie ...
-
a case for the Queen for the Queen:
+ Positive +
a larger than life musical icon transcending genre and industry really ... I know her status in today's industry even as far removed as I was with today's current music climate i.e. Lemonade since almost everyone on the internet would cover her album release and even her latest pregnancy ... suffice to say, she's one of the most influential women in the world and getting her voice to be in your film is a big plus by association in and of itself.
? Main contention ?
her acting career albeit limited was filled with her strong performances (especially memorable in Dreamgirls and Austin Powers in Goldmember for being at opposite end of the spectrum) and despite being fully pregnant at the moment, the amount of time she would have to commit is significantly lower than acting in a live action herself. If she would do the press round herself, that would be huge!
- Negative -
the purist would always compare her performance with the originals and if you're too familiar with her voice, it would be jarring to see it coming out of a realistic lioness & would only see her in Nala.
~
the detractors would even go so far as said that they're using her name and fame to justify her casting instead of using a more experienced albeit less well known voice actress.
--
a case for the two talented comedic talents for the two iconic duo roles:
+ Positive +
two very good comedic actors in Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner although the former is more established and well known in the movie industry than the rising talent of the latter.
? Main contention ?
the much needed levity in Simba's harrowing journey is certainly one of the most memorable part of the animated feature and it would be essential for the live action counterpart to keep true to the essence and as the voiceovers are synonymous to it, they need to find a duo that would replicate the same sense of in-sync characters that would be the perfect accompaniment for lost lion cub.
- Negative -
it might be viewed as simply wasteful and a huge wasted opportunity not to cast back the original actors of Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella to voice back their signature characters to be more authentic although they did so by casting back James Earl Jones as Mufasa and could cast Jeremy Irons as Scar.

- Synopsis -
Live-action re-imagining of the 1994 Walt Disney classic The Lion King.

Cast
Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon ...

(Director - Jon Favreau [the Jungle Book], Genre - Adventure, CGI, Comedy, Drama, Family)
-x-x-

Ewan McGregor for Winnie the Pooh's Hook take
[?]

Chance of Success =
over 80% following the Jungle Book success yet Hook's cloud is over this project
-
a case for this familiar retread of another classic tale:
+ Positive +
a strong lead performer that has been a mainstay in the industry and had quite a busy couple of years and has a healthy relationship with Disney (i.e. Beauty and the Beast and Star Wars franchise). he would also be a capable protagonist for the CGI characters to interact with (a la the Jungle Book).
~
with another Oscar winner being tapped for an existing project in Tom McCarthy who was nominated for Up's screenplay and won for Spotlight, the project is in the safe hands to be written excellently.
? Main contention ?

having the same concept as the controversial Steven Spielberg's Hook, the risk of repeating the same mistake is definitely at the forefront of their minds but the director had experience in telling an alternative narrative of a classic tale.
- Negative -

instead of straight away adapting the universally loved premise, this option to move away from it would be viewed retrospectively as either a good or a bad decision to take after its eventual release and make them wonder what could have been (i.e. in the same veins as the Paddington movie).

- Synopsis -
A live-action version of the classic Winnie the Pooh stories.

Cast
...

(Director - Marc Forster [Finding Neverland, Quantum of Solace, Stranger Than Fiction, World War Z],
Genre - Adventure, CGI, Family, Fantasy)

-x-x-x-
