IMDb - wiki (book) - wiki (movie) - official (movie) - official (book)

A girl named Sophie encounters the Big Friendly Giant who, despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be a kindhearted soul who is considered an outcast by the other giants because unlike his peers refuses to eat boys and girls.

(Director Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan), Writer Melissa Mathison (E.T. the Extra Terrestrial) & Roald Dahl (novel), Rating PG-13(?), Genre - Adventure, Family, Fantasy)
"An anticipated adaptation of a beloved author's novel by a prolific director that is returning to a familiar territory with the recent trailer proving his pedigree yet again."

~ A return to family friendly material in his illustrious and diverse career by now taking a tricky task in adapting the beloved author's children book into a conventional movie, with the trailer showing the tone of a quiet thriller in the opening and the proceeding introduction of the BFG moves it into a more fantastical setting and the relationship between them under the constraint of other Gs, although there is a risk of it being not as faithful as the fans of the original novel would want it to be.
