"A first look into an unknown territory with new characters and more war vibe seeping through the movie, going back to the first storyline that started this saga."
~ A capable director in capturing action, scale and destruction i.e. in Godzilla with a pretty apparent script issue that would now be in the more capable hands of Star Wars scribes, with the story focuses on a certain event that started the original trilogy and a leeway to create a separate adventure anew altough the focus on the Death Star yet again could frustrate the more jaded viewers
~ Subtle difference in the more grounded scale and serious tone for a Star Wars film, focusing on apparently brand new characters away from the Skywalker family with no Jedi in sight so far but the action feels more tactile and gritty i.e. the hands-on action by Donnie Yen and the head-on run towards a line of massive AT-ATs, highlighting the diverse cast of different ethnicity and gender and the added realism from the point of view of the soldiers on the ground
~ The story in the middle of a warfare with the characters from the lower level of society and the effects of the ongoing battle inflicted upon them, the fight between the light and the dark side is much more subtle and internal
