Movie Review 029 Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice [March 25 2016]

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice [032516] 3.5/5

 Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, metacriticWikipediaofficial

Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.

(Director Zack Snyder [Man of Steel], Writer Chris Terrio [Argo & Justice League] & David S. Goyer [the Dark Knight trilogy & Man of Steel], Music Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL, Budget $250 Millions -> Box Office $682> Millions, Duration 2hr 31mn, Rating PG-13, Genre - Action, Adventure, DC Cinematic Universe, Fantasy, Science Fiction)

"A highly entertaining if sometimes dour clash of two DC titans that's far from perfect but laid down a positive foundation for the Cinematic Universe."

+/- The best albeit different representation of the grizzled veteran Batman with a solid performance by Ben Affleck and his excellent partnership with the Butler Alfred, with the direction the character took was foreshadowed well but some are not, being a detriment especially following the beloved iteration from Christopher Nolan, although that one particular fighting sequence is Batman's best yet
+/- Great presense from Henry Cavill as Superman with the repercussion of his actions from the debut movie building up to affect the world around him and himself, with the focus more on the repercussions instead of the character himself
+/- Polarising take on the infamous villain's son that was both quirky and sinister at the same time, with the direction that Jesse Eisenberg took and chose himself for Lex could get some getting used to
+ Solid supporting cast throughout with standout performances of Alfred by Jeremy Irons and Wonder Woman by Gal Gadot which the latter had a stellar outing as the alter ego and as herself
+/- Excellent direction by Zack Snyder with his own particular style and flair that showcased eyecatching visuals coupled wonderfully with engaging soundtracks although the quick, inordinary cuts and resulted flawed storyline could befuddle the viewers as well as the inconsistency in the script (Disjointed storyline with Superman remained in the background while his actions shaped the introduction of the new grizzled Batman and the world around him with his eventual arch nemesis pulling the string from the background with the foundation of the eventual ensemble being laid down mostly rather awkwardly){Highlight for spoiler}
+/- Intuitive and sometimes clunky introduction to the larger parts of the universe with the other heroes and their own particular brand of power (Perfect embodiment of the Amazonian Warrior and her alter ego while the sneak peeks of the others are up for discussion, with the bursting Flash from the future and the alternate world through Bruce's "nightmares" to take a glimpse into the DC's alternate universe or what might happen while the intimidating discovery of Aquaman and the captured creation of Cyborg are awesome to witness but all of these could left the more casual audiences in confusion who don't have prior knowledge of them){Highlight for spoiler}
