Ah, there's an actual echo this time around.
Well, they have spoken, the narrator emphasizes. The adventurer obliges and proceed to walk right off of the giant stump with the sword belts in around the waist and the shield in the right hand. The previous owner would understand, they presume, that even if they didn't leave a thank you note behind, they would appreciate them fully by using these gifts to the best of their abilities. Hey, maybe it's like a passing down from one warrior to the next, and you're just the one next in line, the narrator deduces. The adventurer mulls over that possibility a little while looking ahead to the dirt road ahead of them, with a conveniently placed road signs right in the middle of their eyeline. Crude symbols have been drawn onto both side of the signs; with left side indicating the mountainside and the right a pint of ale, most probably a pub.
Okay, that's straightforward enough for you, right? The narrator follows up by asking whether the adventurer wants to go straight into danger to their left or mingle with the others first to their right? After much deliberation, they took a big step to their...?
