NO. No, no no...!
Why are the voices being quiet at the least opportune time?!
The only moment where it matters to hear a convincing second opinion had already passed! The narrator keeps cursing their luck out of frustration, with their trust given easily to these faceless voices, leaning on them to make the tough decisions. Now what? What now...? Oh, look at that. Those red eyes... they are actually, blinking? There are actual lights that appear to be coming from within the now rigid raven, slowly but surely getting brighter and brighter by the passing moment. The eyes of the adventurer themselves are now glued to their counterpart, staring blankly straight into the seemingly bottomless crimson pit. Having not moved away at all from the moment they sit down on the grass to the moment the crow did on their hand, the narrator thinks the earlier hesitation doesn't matter at all now because he could see the doubt slowly melting away as the they are slowly being engulfed with the red glare coming off of its eyes. What are they seeing now? With their ability to respond to this precarious development agonizingly slipping away from their grasp, they could see the world around them melting away like a water-colour painting, swirling around the now stark white bird devoid of its original pigmentation. Despite its small size compared to the spellbound human, there is no mistaken now who is in control of whom. The last thought the now trapped novice could muster is whether to accept the fate and embrace it fully or try one last gasp attempt to break away... they know the chance is slim but they want go knowing they try their darnedest. Could this be the last we heard from them, the narrator wonders. Let's reach out to the void for one last time; should they give in or should they fight back?
