The aforementioned echo has now turn into a definite voice, coming straight from a source instead of reverberating from another place. The decision is set and the adventurer follows suit, keeping themselves at the ready for the bird to land on. And land it does, gently laying its feet on their arm, so gently so that there is no chance of its claws ever scratching their skin. It is as if it knows of their fear and try its best to allay that fear, achieved by the extra flaps of the wings, so close to their person that they could feel the gust of wind it picks up. While all these is calming their nerve a little, they still couldn't dismiss how everything else feels a little bit weird. How about the background, don't they notice how distorted the perspective is judging by the forest line in the background? How about the passage of time, don't they notice how much time has passed judging by the movement of the clouds? Paying too much attention on the bright lights and then the crows may have caused this, but probably there's more nefarious elements at play here. While their mind is racing, the raven that is perched on their hand has been quiet and still ever since it landed, rather unnaturally so. It is breathing normally like a living animal but that red eyes are too bright to ignore. They feel the urge of morbid curiosity to stare right into them but their basic survival instinct is holding them back from doing so. They feel that time is passing ever so quickly and they need to make a decision right away. Should they stare right back or should they close their eyes?
