The Turtles come into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman, the Foot Clan and the return of Eric Sacks,Karai, and their enemy, The Shredder, who has hired Stockman to create mutants of his own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady. Meanwhile, an invasion above New York City is led by the Dimension X inhabitant known as Krang. The Turtles are joined in the fight by their sensei Splinter and their human friends April O'Neil, Vern Fenwick and the vigilante Casey Jones. They also meet NYPD officer, Rebecca Vincent.

"The surprisingly adequate reboot attempt will now be followed by moving further into the cartoon's lore with the inclusion of a fan favourite ally and the nemeses, embracing the more outlandish side of the franchise while giving the main characters the spotlight they didn't get enough the first time." 

+ Embracing the more cartoony side of the franchise, with the origin story done, by including the fan-favourite ally and especially the infamous nemeses whom appeared to be faithfully adapted albeit with a slight alterations or much needed update
+/- Based on the trailer, the screen time would be dominated by the entertaining turtles themselves instead of the serviceable side characters of the first movie and their battles with Bebop and Rocksteady, and Krang!
+/- Although the special effects are still in post-production, the released images as of now appeared to be leaning more towards cartoonish instead of realistic (i.e. the darker toned turtles into the lighter and more colourful turtles), taking into the fan feedback from the debut appearance
-/+ The cartoon purists would not be satisfied with the stark difference between the original cartoon with the recent run, but the further inclusion from its lore i.e. the nemeses would definitely satiate their hunger
