"A worthy return to the deserved franchise with visible throwbacks to the original trilogy with the successful combination of the cast old and new that builds upon the solid foundation laid before with respectful update of the visuals and mythos, certainly setting up the new start in the right direction."

Perfect cast of old and new with standout performances by the solid Daisy Ripley and complex Adam Driver while the original characters comes back with a return to form and used to perfection
Tactile feel of the universe with the extensive use of practical effects whenever possible with CG effects used and applied to accentuate and elevated the franchise back to life again
Director's deft hands balanced the sensible humour with some genuine heartfelt moments and trademark action sequences, emphasizing the theme of family as the movie's moving core while creating a few iconic scenes as well
Right back into the revered universe with familiar effects and scores to invoke the nostalgia feel while proper and in-place updates treat the viewers with cinematic action sequences, picturesque cinematography and the iconic John Williams scores
+/- Adequate job of tackling the insurmountable task of cramming the whole mythology into this recent iteration and even updating it but it could be better explained as to not alienating the newcomers to the franchise
+/- Making a safe bet in the story by retreading the same threads of the original movie while providing a number of updates but it could be viewed as a lack of innovation and taking fewer risk
+/- Packed list of characters on both sides of this new trilogy who some of them have their own standout moments but a few are kept in the sidelines and even reserved into cameos, merely there to plant the seeds for the follow-up
+ (The Force is the main focus of the leads with similar throwback and new inventive scenes between them, gritty lightsaber fights, the manipulations of the Force and a few hearty scenes such as the Force flashbacks) [highlight inside () for the Force spoiler]
