The story is a re-imagining of the novel Journey to the West written by Wu Cheng'en. Unlike the original story that was set in a fantastical version of ancient China, the game is set 150 years in a future post-apocalyptic world following a global war, with only remnants of humanity left, along with the still active war machines left over from the conflict. Like the original story however, the plot revolves around someone who forces the help and protection of a warrior, with many characters sharing the same names and roles.

(Namco Bandai Games/Ninja Theory, Development Cycle - 2009-10&13, Rating - 16, Release Date - 100810&102513, Duration - 8-12 Hours, Genre - Action, Adventure, Platforming, Third Person Action)

+ Imaginative and mature take on a classic Chinese tale with a futuristic post-apocalypse premise and colourful art style that sets it apart from the rest
+/- Beautiful and crisp graphics with additional professional voiceovers and motion captures to boot, adding to the realism of the characters and the world albeit showing a bit of its age
+ An emphasize should be made on the natural and believable interactions between the main characters and how the story are told between them, with a couple of light-hearted moments
+/- Simple commands with enough variations and great sequences throughout the story but a few loose controls and cameras showing its origin in a bad way
